Asset Assessment
Frame Group was engaged to assess the structural condition of the Whangapoua Wharf and adjacent seawall to support a time-sensitive resource consent renewal. The assessment identified key issues including timber decay and significant deterioration to one of the main piles. Frame Group recommended targeted structural repairs, including the replacement of decayed timber and the concrete encasement of compromised piles to ensure continued safe use of the wharf.
The seawall, impacted by marine borer activity, was also assessed and documented for remedial action. By responding quickly and working closely with the Council, Frame Group helped secure the asset’s usability and longevity, ensuring the continued operation of this key piece of coastal infrastructure.
