Let's talk about your project

Frame Group was engaged by the Department of Conservation to develop a comprehensive Kauri Track Construction and Maintenance Manual to support consistent, kauri-safe practice across the northern North Island. The manual was created as a practical reference for DOC Kauri Track Managers responsible for planning, delivering and maintaining visitor infrastructure in kauri forest environments.

Frame Group provided advisory services focused on establishing clear standards, procedures and implementation guidance for Kauri Dieback mitigation. The manual documents a range of mitigation options and sets out when and how each should be applied, ensuring consistency with the Kauri National Pest Management Plan (NPMP), DOC’s Visitor Asset Management Programme and associated operational procedures.

Designed as a detailed, user-friendly guide, the manual translates policy and technical requirements into practical, on-the-ground actions. It supports consistent decision-making, improves risk management and provides a robust framework for kauri-safe track construction and maintenance across DOC-managed sites.
