Let's talk about your project

Frame Group has worked with Auckland Council over multiple phases to improve, protect and reinstate track infrastructure across Le Roys Bush Reserve, a well-loved urban reserve in Birkenhead on Auckland’s North Shore.

Initial upgrades focused on improving accessibility and preserving ecological integrity, including new boardwalks, staircases, timber retaining walls and track realignments. All works were designed to meet Kauri Dieback Track Mitigation protocols, with helicopter material drops and hand-construction methods used to minimise impact in sensitive wetland and forest areas.

Following significant damage from the 2023 Auckland floods, Frame Group was re-engaged to assess and remediate four major slip sites. Solutions included new boardwalks, path realignments and a glulam bridge spanning a slip zone where ecological disturbance needed to be avoided. The response prioritised safety, durability and climate resilience, while protecting the reserve’s natural and cultural values.

The project is currently in the consent and tendering stage, with works to be delivered in close coordination with the community, iwi and Council stakeholders.
