Let's talk about your project

Frame Group was engaged by the Ministry for Primary Industries to prepare the Kauri Dieback Construction and Maintenance Guidelines, a technical reference document supporting consistent, evidence-based mitigation practices across the northern North Island.

The guidelines document kauri dieback management decisions and mitigation options for track construction and maintenance, providing clear direction on when and how different approaches should be applied. The work draws on more than 10 years of Frame Group’s experience delivering kauri-safe infrastructure projects for the Department of Conservation and reflects lessons learned through practical, on-the-ground application.

The guidelines were developed to align with the Kauri National Pest Management Plan (NPMP) and were informed by technical input from DOC, Te Kākano o Te Kauri and local authorities. Frame Group prepared standard drawings and technical specifications to support consistent implementation across agencies and contractors.

The result is a robust, practical advisory document that supports central and local government decision-making, improves consistency across the sector and strengthens long-term protection of kauri forests through clear standards and procedures.
