Let's talk about your project

Frame Group was engaged by Hastings District Council to upgrade track infrastructure across three connected reserves in Havelock Hills. Originally scoped as a standard track improvement project, the work expanded significantly following damage from Cyclone Gabrielle.

The project focused on improving resilience across the network, including new boardwalks, retaining walls, culverts and drainage systems. Three new pedestrian bridges were designed within a 100-year flood zone and feature innovative release mechanisms. These allow the bridges to break away under extreme flow conditions to prevent debris build-up and reduce the risk of upstream flooding, without damaging houses downstream.

The upgrades ensure safer, more accessible public spaces while helping the Council future-proof key recreational infrastructure in the face of increasing climate risk.
