Let's talk about your project

As part of the Department of Conservation’s Predator Free 2050 initiative, Frame Group developed a custom-engineered predator gate designed to be retrofitted to an existing swing bridge within Fiordland National Park. The gate creates a biosecurity barrier that prevents pests from crossing into a controlled zone, enabling DOC teams to intensify eradication efforts.

Designed using advanced 3D modelling and inspired by fencing and predator-control best practices, the structure is non-climbable, modular and lightweight. It was engineered to outlast the lifespan of the bridge it’s fixed to, while still being easy to fly in and install by DOC field teams in remote backcountry conditions.

This project highlights Frame Group’s ability to apply smart engineering to non-standard conservation infrastructure, supporting one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most ambitious environmental goals in one of its most iconic national parks.
