Frame Group has been involved with the planning, design and contract administration for this trail since its inception. The trail follows the escarpment between Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay for approximately 7.5kms and will become part of the Te Araroa walkway (The Long Pathway), which runs the length of the country. This section of the trail is spectacular part of the overall trail as well as becoming an iconic day trip walking track, in close proximity to the communities of the Wellington Region.
Frame Group designed all the bridges on this 67km cycleway which is part of the NZ Cycle Trail. The trail follows the route of a dis-used railway on the Hauraki Plains.
The practical and efficient design of the bridges has enabled much of this cyclway to be opened ahead of time. The trail has already attracted a large number of visitors and provided economic benefit to the District.
The award wining timber bridge designs are attractive in style and were built with local materials by local contractors.
